Is your website fast or slow?  The answer to this question might be more important than you think…

A website’s speed matters for two reasons.  First of all, users prefer websites that load quickly.  Nobody likes sitting around waiting for images and other content to resolve, so if users aren’t able to access your site as quickly as they’d like, there’s a good chance they’ll hit the «Back» button on their browsers before giving your website a fair chance.

But beyond your website’s user experience, the speed of your site is also important from an SEO standpoint.  Google and the other search engines have explicitly stated that they prefer to prioritize fast loading websites in the natural search results, which means that improving your site speed could lead to more visitors finding your site through these engines.
