From March 15, 2026, following a decision by the international Certificate Authority Browser Forum, the validity period of each SSL certificate issuance is gradually being reduced. The overall duration of your SSL remains the same; however, more frequent reissuance will be required to keep it active and valid.

What you need to know

The total duration of your SSL certificate remains unchanged. However, you will now need to reissue your certificate more often to ensure it stays active and aligned with current security standards.
This change does not affect your website’s operation, as long as you complete renewals on time.

More specifically, the validity of each SSL certificate issuance will be as follows:

What is SSL reissuance

Reissuance is the process of creating a new certificate for the same domain before the previous one expires, ensuring that it remains active and valid.

  • submitting a reissue request
  • validation of details
  • installation of the new certificate
